TAPROOT THEATRE
Taproot Theatre
The Taproot Theatre Annex is the 12,000 sqft multi-use expansion of the non-profit Taproot Theatre, Seattle’s largest mid-size professional theatre company.
In October 2009, arson brought the Taproot Theatre Company into the spotlight. As the largest and costliest of 14 fires set by a serial arsonist in the Greenwood District of Seattle, the fire closed the theatre for 96 days.
The targeted LEED Gold 21-module expansion is the rebuild of the tragic arson and includes a second theatre, lobby, dressing rooms, administrative offices, a scene workshop, and cafe and wine bar.
